Answer:
If you are at the summit of Mount Everest, you’ll be at the upper troposphere of the atmosphere. The troposphere is the lowest layer of Earth's atmosphere and is also where nearly all weather conditions take place. It contains approximately 75% of the atmosphere's mass and 99% of the total mass of water vapor and aerosols.

Increasing the alveolar ventilation rate will Group of answer choices increase the partial pressure of oxygen in the alveoli. de
Pie

Answer:

Increasing the alveolar ventilation rate will increase the partial pressure of oxygen in the alveoli.

Explanation:

Alveolar Ventilation rate is the rate of air flow in the alveoli of the lung during normal breathing. It is measured in milliliters of air per minute (mL/min). The alveolar ventilation rate is an important factor in determining the concentrations (partial pressures) of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the functioning alveoli.

A high rate of alveolar ventilation, would result in a rapid influx of oxygen-rich air and efflux carbon dioxide-filled air from the alveoli. This ultimately results in an increase in the concentration of oxygen and a decrease in the concentration of carbon dioxide within the alveoli.

Effects of alveolar ventilation on partial pressures of alveolar carbon dioxide and oxygen (PACO₂ and PAO₂)

If the alveolar ventilation rate is increased (and carbon dioxide production is unchanged), then the partial pressure of carbon dioxide in the alveoli, PACO₂ will decrease.

If the alveolar ventilation rate increases, then the partial pressure of oxygen in the alveoli, PAO₂ will increase.

One unit of alcohol contains 8 grams of alcohol. calculate the risk of developing liver cancer for someone who consumes 4 units
Kryger [21]

The risk of developing liver cancer for someone who consumes 4 units of alcohol a day is twice as high as normal (hepatocellular carcinoma and intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma).

What does alcohol do to the liver?

Alters the production of enzymes, changing the rate of metabolism of the alcohol consumed, causing chronic inflammation, alcoholic hepatitis and cirrhosis. Irritates the mucous membranes of the stomach and esophagus, causing esophagitis, gastritis and diarrhea.

With this information, we can conclude that The risk of developing liver cancer for someone who consumes 4 units of alcohol a day is twice as high as normal (hepatocellular carcinoma and intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma).

A zebra mussel is discovered in a lake in Pennsylvania for the first time. Why would this make an ecologist worried?
Anna71 [15]

If a zebra mussel is discovered in a lake in Pennsylvania, then the ecologist would be worried because it is an invasive species. The zebra mussel is native to Ukraine and Russia, but if it has been found in Pennsylvania, than it means that it has been introduced in this area. As an invasive species, the zebra mussel can be very dangerous for the native species in the lake. The invasive species usually are more competitive for food sources than the native species, manage to reproduce quicker, bring in diseases, and the native species tend to not have defense mechanisms for them. This leads to rapid decline or even extinction in the native species, while the invasive spreads out quickly and takes over, resulting in dramatic change in the whole ecosystem.
