Two ways the spread of enlightenment contributed to the french revolution were:

3 enlightenment thoughts introduced people to other forms of government such as popular sovereignty

After introducing the concept of popular sovereignty, the people of french realize that they would be better of if they get rid of the monarchs who had been unfairly taxing them. The enlightenment thinkers also taught them to act to make the revolutionary efforts since those in control would not be likely to granted it to them.
