In my opinion, the correct answer is C) Writing about people serves to immortalize them. It is the central idea of both sonnets. Spencer is aware of the "vanity" of his attempt to immortalize a mortal thing, that is, his beloved. But he nevertheless wants to do it, knowing that a poem about their love will make this love immortal and alive, many ages after they are both gone. Shakespeare also seeks to tear his beloved off from mortal fate by writing about her. All beautiful things eventually fade out and die, he says; but poetry transcends this life and its limitations, so it's the only way for the two of them and their love to live eternally.

Both Spencer and Shakespeare think highly of their loves. But there is one thing that outshines even love, and that is poetry. It is like a window from which we can at least peek into eternity, if we are not able to live in it.

Option a

Explanation:

Dr. King echoes a Biblical allusion from Psalms 30:5—“weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning”--when he says, "it came as a joyous daybreak to end the long night of their captivity,” meaning how like joyous daybreak was the moment when the dark night of slavery was over. How does Charles Dickens convey the importance of Christmas and Tradition in the Christmas carol?
pshichka [43]

Answer:

Charle's Dickens conveyed the importance of Christmas and Tradition in "A Christmas Carol" by showing that Christmas is all about "giving rather than receiving." Instead of spending time at work and being grumpy like Scrooge on Christmas Eve, spending time with family is more important. It also teaches people a lesson that you cannot bring your wealth when you die, thus, it is more important to share your wealth for the common good and the happiness of others.

Explanation:

"A Christmas Carol" is a story written by Charles Dickens, which was published in 1843. It centers on the character of Ebenezer Scrooge, a miser who was visited by the Three Ghosts of Christmas. These ghosts were meant to teach him a lesson and to show him that family is more important than wealth, especially during Christmas Day. After these events, Scrooge miraculously changed into a reformed person.
