The math club is doing a fundraiser to raise money for to attend a math competition. The club was told by their advisor to raise

$2000, but they decided to raise $4000. The club is selling" I like TT" t shirts for $10 and sweatshirt for $20 let x equal the number of t shirt sold and let y equal the number of sweatshirt sold

Number of t-shirts are represented by 't'
number of sweaters are represented by 's'

cost of 1t=10 and cost of 1s=20 so
10t+20s=2000 or (factor out the 10 if you want to simplify)
10(t+2s)=10(200)
divide both sides by 2
t+2s=200

You have 6L feet of fence to make a rectangular vegetable garden alongside the wall of your house, where L is a positive constan
nika2105 [10]

Answer:

A(max) = (9/2)*L² ft²

Dimensions:

x = 3*L feet

y  = (3/2)*L   ft

Step-by-step explanation:

Let call  "x"  and  " y " sides of the rectangle. The side x is parallel to the wall of the house then

Area of the rectangle is

A(r) = x*y

And total length of fence available is 6*L f , and we will use the wall as one x side then, perimeter of the rectangle which is 2x  +  2y   becomes x + 2*y

Then

6*L  =  x + 2* y    ⇒ y  = ( 6*L - x ) /2

And the area as function of x is

A(x)  =   x* ( 6*L - x )/2

A(x)  = ( 6*L*x  - x² ) /2

Taking derivatives on both sides of the equation we get:

A´(x)  =  1/2 ( 6*L - 2*x )

A´(x)  =  0      ⇒      1/2(  6*L  - 2*x ) = 0

6*L - 2*x  = 0

-2*x  = - 6*L

x  =  3*L feet

And

y  = ( 6*L - x ) /2   ⇒  y  = ( 6*L - 3*L )/ 2

y = ( 3/2)*L feet

And area maximum is:

A(max)  =  3*L * 3/2*L

A(max)  = (9/2)*L² f²

BRAINLIESTTT ASAP! PLEASE HELP ME :)
Rufina [12.5K]

Answer:

\displaystyle \boxed{2x^2 - x + 1}

Step-by-step explanation:

Since the divisor of \displaystyle x + 1is in the form of \displaystyle x - c,use what is called Synthetic Division. Remember, in this formula, −c gives you the OPPOSITE terms of what they really are, so do not forget it. Anyway, here is how it is done:

−1| 2 1 0 1

↓ −2 1 −1

__________

2 −1 1 0 → \displaystyle 2x^2 - x + 1

You start by placing the <em>c</em> in the top left corner, then list all the coefficients of your dividend [2x³ + x² + 1]. You bring down the original term closest to <em>c</em> then begin your multiplication. Now depending on what symbol your result is tells you whether the next step is to subtract or add, then you continue this process starting with multiplication all the way up until you reach the end. Now, when the last term is 0, that means you have no remainder. Finally, your quotient is one degree less than the leading coefficient of your dividend, so that 2 in your quotient can be a 2x², the −x follows right behind it, and bringing up the rear, 1, giving you the quotient of 2x² - x + 1.

I am joyous to assist you anytime.

The ordered pair (2, 36) is a solution for which equation(s)? Check all that apply.
makvit [3.9K]
Plug it into each equation and see if both sides are equal:
A. 36 = (2+4)^2 -> 36 = 36 works
B. 36 = 7(2)^2 +2 -> 36 = 30 doesn't work
C. 36 = (3(2))^2 -> 36 = 36 works
D. 36 = 2(2)^2 -> 36 = 8 doesn't work

The coordinates of the vertices of a rectangle are (−3, 4) , (7, 2) , (6, −3) , and (−4, −1) .
7nadin3 [17]

Answer

Find out the what is the perimeter of the rectangle .

To prove

As given

The coordinates of the vertices of a rectangle are (−3, 4) , (7, 2) , (6, −3) , and (−4, −1) .

As shown in the graph given below

Name the vertices A (−3, 4) , B(7, 2) , C(6, −3) , and D(−4, −1) .

Formula

Distance\ formula = \sqrt{(x_{2} - x_{1})^{2} + (y_{2} - y_{1})^{2}}

Vertices are A (-3, 4) and B (7,2)

AB = \sqrt{(7 - (-3))^{2} + (2 - 4)^{2}}

AB = \sqrt{(10)^{2} + (-2)^{2}}

AB = \sqrt{100 + 4}

AB = \sqrt{104}

AB = 10.2 units (approx)

As this is the rectangles

Thus  AB = CD (The opposite sides of the rectangle are equal.)

CD = 10.2 units (approx)

Now  vertices are B(7, 2) and C(6, −3)

BC = \sqrt{(6 - 7)^{2} + (-3 -2 )^{2}}

BC = \sqrt{(-1)^{2} + (-5 )^{2}}

BC = \sqrt{26}

BC = 5.1 units(Approx)

As this is the rectangles

Thus BC = AD (The opposite sides of the rectangle are equal.)

AD = 5.1 units

Formula

Perimeter of a rectangle =  2 (length + Breadth)

As length = 10.2 units

Breadth = 5.1 units

Put in the formula

Perimeter of a rectangle =  2 × (10.2 + 5.1)

                                         = 2 × 15.3

                                          = 30.6 units.

Therefore the perimeter of a rectangle is 30.6 units .
