Hello!

Martin buys more fruit, because 6/3 is greater than 4/3. You can check which fraction is greater by converting it into a decimal, as decimals are sometimes easier to compare.

4 / 3 = 1.3 (Repeating)

6 / 3 = 2

As you can see, 2 is greater than 1.3 Repeating, so 6/3 pounds are greater than 4/3 pounds.

Martin bought more fruit. If both fractions have a denomiator of 3, and Jack buys 4/3, and Martin buys 6/3, it's obviously Martin. 6 is more than 4. We don't have to worry about the denominator.

What is the scale factor of two similar pyramids with volume of 13824 cubic feel and 216 cubic feet?
velikii [3]

Answer: The scale factor is 4

Step-by-step explanation:

We know that the pyramids are similar. The volume of one of these pyramids is  13,824 cubic feet and the volume of the other one is 216 cubic feet. Then:

V_1=13,824ft^3\\V_2=216ft^3

By Similar solids theorem, if two similar solids have a scale factor of \frac{a}{b}, then corresponding volumes have a ratio of \frac{a^3}{b^3}

Then:

\frac{V_1}{V_2}=\frac{a^3}{b^3}

Knowing this, we can find the scale factor. This is:

\frac{13,824}{216}=\frac{a^3}{b^3}\\\\\frac{13,824}{216}=(\frac{a}{b})^3\\\\\frac{a}{b}=\sqrt[3]{\frac{13,824}{216}}\\\\scale\ factor=\frac{a}{b}=4

A. Write an equation that compares Tom sand Ann's ages.b. Draw a graph to represent theequation
kompoz [17]

a. The equation that relates Ann's age (x) and Tom's age (y) is a line

The slope-intercept form of a line is:

y = mx + b

where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept.

The slope of the line that passes through the points (x1, y1) and (x2, y2) is computed as follows:

m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

From the table, the line passes through the points (4, 8) and (8, 12), then its slope is:

m=\frac{12-8}{8-4}=\frac{4}{4}=1

Substituting with m = 1 and the point (4, 8) into the general equation, we get:

8 = 1(4) + b

8 = 4 + b

8 - 4 = b

4 = b

Finally, the equation that compares Tom's and Ann's age is:

y = x + 4

b. To graph the line y = x + 4, we need to draw two points and then connect them with a line. Replacing with x = 0 into the equation:

y = 0 + 4

y = 4

then, the point (0, 4) is on the line. And we can also use the point (4,8)
