Can someone please help me with this question? This is my last question, but I am not sure what the answer is.

Solution :

Given that, The perimeter of the cabin is the sum of all four sides and can be written as perimeter = 2a+2b.

From the given diagram,

$a = x+6$

and, $b = x+4$

The perimeter of the cabin

$=2a+2b\\= 2(x+6)+2(x+4)\\=2x+12+2x+8 \\=4x+20\\=4(x+5)$

Hence, an expression in terms of x that shows the total perimeter  $=4(x+5)$
