  • Plants are autotrophs that takes up energy from the sun to manufacture their own food.
  • Fungi is mainly a heterotroph that feeds on food that is already manufactured.
  • This is why you have fungi on a piece of stale bread after several days but you can never find a plant growing in such a place.
