d entertainment had previously been unavailable. Soldiers returned home and wanted to be entertained, and the audience for music and “talkies” increased. The fourth alternative is correct (D).

After the First World War, people were impacted by the negative effects of war. Thus, people sought leisure as a method of forgetting, even temporarily, the devastating effects of war.

At that time, the American entertainment industry was expanding rapidly as the country became an economic powerhouse. This was called the Golden Age. People came to demand cinema and culture, which were cheap ways to entertain society.

Is knowledge of the past no longer useful for us today?
andre [41]

Answer:

nowledge from any time period will always be helpful in some way. We are able to accomplish several things with the more knowledge we know. Knowledge from the past is still useful for is today for the reason that it can help us in present situations.

Information found in the past can teach us how to improve modern technology. Ideas are always being changed due to knowledge of the past such as changing from riding a horse to riding a car or from cooking on top of a fire to cooking on a stove. The knowledge from the past helped in the creation of modern ideas/creations.

Knowledge of the past will continue to be useful for us today and for us in the future. We will learn from past knowledge and use what we learned to create and help us in certain situations. Knowledge is a great gift and shall always be used to help the human race.

Explain how the nation's expansion/growth from 1790 to 1860 was reflected in printed materials.
densk [106]

Answer: The press served as one of the main tools in spreading nationalism.

Explanation:

During the American Revolution, propaganda placed through the press had a great influence on the spread of nationalism. In Europe, it was a powerful tool for emphasizing people's language as an element of nationalism. The print media replaced the weakening of the church as an institution in the New Age. They were in the hands of secular rulers who emphasized nationalist aspirations through the press. In this way, the collective national consciousness of the people was created. The press is an extremely powerful weapon in spreading nationalist aspirations. The print media technology did not invent nationalism, it is a product of state policies, but it significantly influenced the spread of these ideas.

The American War of Independence is tied to nationalism and the press. Namely, when the English wanted to increase taxes, the press all over America wrote about it. Thanks to the press, the news spread to North America with incredible speed, which led to a revolt among the people. In those years, the press spread negative news about colonial rule and emphasized creating national unity among Americans. Then various movements appeared, such as the Sons of Liberty, which spread national ideas in America through the press, and phenomena like these worried the colonial authorities. The media is still a very strong element in the spread of nationalism.
