Remark

Good thing to know. This is a rounding question.

A

Answer A is a bit nasty. I round 5 to the next highest number on the left. That may not be what you have been told to do. Let us round A to  5.7 and see if anything else does this.

B

Answer B rounds to 5.6

C

Answer C rounds to 5.6 as well. 3 is less than 5 so you round down.

D

Answer D rounds to 5.6(.) The zero has no effect on the 6.

Answer

Since there is nothing special about A and nothing else rounds to 5.7, the answer is A. So your rule is when the last number is 5, you round the second last number to one more than it was, regardless of the properties of the second last number.

Answer:

B.

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given:

\displaystyle \int \sqrt{x}\Big(9x^3-2\sqrt{x}+\frac{8}{x}\Big)\, dx

And we want to select its equivalent form.

Note that A is not valid. No integration property allows us to separate factors unless that factor is a constant.

We can simply rewrite and then distribute. First, by rewriting:

\displaystyle =\int x^{1/2}\Big(9x^3-2x^{1/2}+8x^{-1}\Big)\, dx

Distribute. Recall exponent properties;

\displaystyle =\int(9x^{3+1/2}-2x^{1/2+1/2}+8x^{-1+1/2})\, dx

Simplify:

\displaystyle=\int9x^{7/2}-2x+8x^{1/2}\, dx

This can then be separated (since its addition/subtraction) and integrated individually.

Hence, our answer is B.

Justin and George bought some baked goods. Justin purchased 5 cookies for x dollars each and 4 doughnuts for y dollars each and
borishaifa [10]

The given statement 5x=4y=12 and x+6y=5 is true.

<u>Step-by-step explanation:</u>

The question comes from linear equations in two variables.

Here, two unknown variables represent a certain situation and their value can be obtained by solving both the given equations.

The cost of cookie is represented by the variable x and cost of doughnuts can be represented by the variable y.

The coefficient of each variable in the equation represent the quantity or the number of units of each baked good.

On comparing the given equations from the data provided in the question, the statement can be stated as true.
