Answer:

x = 2

Step-by-step explanation:

Basic proportionality theorem,

\frac{AB}{BD}=\frac{CB}{BE}\\

AB = AD + DB = 4+6 = 10

CB = CE + EB = x + x +1 = 2x +1

\frac{10}{6}=\frac{2x+1}{x+1}

Cross multiply

10*(x+1) = 6*(2x+ 1)

10*x + 10*x = 6*2x + 6*1

10x + 10 = 12x + 6

Subtract 10x from both sides

10x + 10 - 10x = 12x + 6 - 10x

10 = 2x + 6

Subtract 6 form both sides

10 - 6 = 2x + 6 - 6

4 = 2x

Divide both sides by 2

4/2 = 2x/2

2  = x

x = 2

Keisha wants to meet for 90 minutes so far she has read 30% of her goal how much longer does she need to read to reach her goal
sladkih [1.3K]

Answer:

30% of 90

30% x 90

30/100 =3/10

3/10 x 90 = 270/10

270 = 27

90 - 27 = 63

Keisha has to read 63 more minutes to reach her goal.

A square park with sides 15 meters in length has a diagonal walkway as shown.
Alexxandr [17]

Answer:

The approximate length of the diagonal walkway is 21.21 meters

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

Applying the Pythagorean Theorem in the square park, find out the the approximate length of the diagonal walkway

so

c^2=a^2+b^2

where

c is the diagonal of the square

a and b are the length sides of the square

we have

a=15\ m\\b=15\ m

substitute

c^2=15^2+15^2\\c^2=450\\c=21.21\ m

therefore

The approximate length of the diagonal walkway is 21.21 meters
