We draw region ABC. Lines that connect y = 0 and y = x³ are vertical so:
(i) prependicular to the axis x - disc method;
(ii) parallel to the axis y - shell method;
(iii) parallel to the line x = 18 - shell method.

Limits of integration for x are easy x₁ = 0 and x₂ = 9.
Now, we have all information, so we could calculate volume.

(i)

V=\pi\cdot\int\limits_a^bf^2(x)\, dx\qquad\implies \qquad a=0\qquad b=9\qquad f(x)=x^3

V=\pi\cdot\int\limits_0^9(x^3)^2\, dx=\pi\cdot\int\limits_0^9x^6\, dx=\pi\cdot\left[\dfrac{x^7}{7}\right]_0^9=\pi\cdot\left(\dfrac{9^7}{7}-\dfrac{0^7}{7}\right)=\dfrac{9^7}{7}\pi=\\\\\\=\boxed{\dfrac{4782969}{7}\pi}

Answer B. or D.

(ii)

V=2\pi\cdot\int\limits_a^bx\cdot f(x)\, dx

V=2\pi\cdot\int\limits_0^{9}(x\cdot x^3)\, dx=2\pi\cdot\int\limits_0^{9}x^4\, dx=
2\pi\cdot\left[\dfrac{x^5}{5}\right]_0^9=2\pi\cdot\left(\dfrac{9^5}{5}-\dfrac{0^5}{5}\right)=\\\\\\=2\pi\cdot\dfrac{9^5}{5}=\boxed{\dfrac{118098}{5}\pi}

So we know that the correct answer is D.

(iii)
Line x = h

V=2\pi\cdot\int\limits_a^b(h-x)\cdot f(x)\, dx\qquad\implies\qquad h=18

V=2\pi\cdot\int\limits_0^9\big((18-x)\cdot x^3\big)\, dx=2\pi\cdot\int\limits_0^9(18x^3-x^4)\, dx=\\\\\\=2\pi\cdot\left(\int\limits_0^918x^3\, dx-\int\limits_0^9x^4\, dx\right)=2\pi\cdot\left(18\int\limits_0^9x^3\, dx-\int\limits_0^9x^4\, dx\right)=\\\\\\=2\pi\cdot\left(18\left[\dfrac{x^4}{4}\right]_0^9-\left[\dfrac{x^5}{5}\right]_0^9\right)=2\pi\cdot\Biggl(18\biggl(\dfrac{9^4}{4}-\dfrac{0^4}{4}\biggr)-\biggl(\dfrac{9^5}{5}-\dfrac{0^5}{5}\biggr)\Biggr)=\\\\\\

=2\pi\cdot\left(18\cdot\dfrac{9^4}{4}-\dfrac{9^5}{5}\right)=2\pi\cdot\dfrac{177147}{10}=\boxed{\dfrac{177147\pi}{5}}

Answer D. just as before.

klemol [59]
First order the data:
1, 1, 1, 6, 7, 10, 10, 10, 10, 13, 15
the mean is all the numbers added together divided by how many there are, 1 + 1 + 1 + 6 + 7 + 10 + 10 + 10 + 10 + 13 + 15 = 84    84/11 = 7.636364 ≈ 7.6
the median is the number in the middle of the list, count numbers from each end, until you either have one or two left, if one left then its that one, if two left then its half way between the two
the median for your set is 10
The mode is the most common number, in your set 10

Select the correct answer from each drop-down menu. The table below represents the function f, and the following graph represent
Lorico [155]
<h3>Answers:</h3>

The functions f and g have <u>same axis of symmetry</u>

The y intercept of f is <u>greater than</u> the y intercept of g.

Over the interval [-6,-3], the average rate of change of f is <u>less than</u> the average rate of change of g.

===========================================

Explanation:

Check out the diagram below.

Using the table, plot each (x,y) point onto the same xy grid the blue parabola is graphed on. This way we can compare the two graphs. I'll show these points in red. The red parabola passing through them represents all of f(x) assuming it is continuous.

When we have f(x) and g(x) plotted together, we see that they have the same axis of symmetry. Points D = (-3,-10) and K = (-3,7) have the same x coordinate. The axis of symmetry for each is x = -3.

-------------

Furthermore, the graph shows that the y intercept of f is above the y intercept of g. Look where the graphs cross the y axis. So The y intercept of f is greater than the y intercept of g

We could note that from the table, the y intercept of f is (0,8) as the y intercept always happens when x = 0.

-------------

Last part is the average rate of change (AROC)

AROC is the same as the slope of the line through the endpoints mentioned. The interval [-6, -3] means we go from x = -6 to x = -3. Those x values determine the endpoints.

For f(x), this means we find the slope of the line through (-6,8) and (-3,-10). Use the slope formula to get

m = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

m = (-10-8)/(-3-(-6))

m = (-10-8)/(-3+6)

m = -18/3

m = -6 ... negative slope goes downhill as we move from left to right

The AROC for f, on the mentioned interval, is -6

The AROC for g is done in a similar manner. We use the two points J = (-6,-2) and L = (-3,7) as the diagram shows. The slope of line JL is

m = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

m = (7-(-2))/(-3-(-6))

m = (7+2)/(-3+6)

m = 9/3

m = 3 ... positive slope goes uphill as we move from left to right

We get a different AROC here. More specifically, this is a larger AROC compared to what we got for f. So the AROC for f is smaller than the AROC for g.

Select the correct answer. Function f is an exponential function that has an initial value of 64 and decreases by 50% as x incre
lozanna [386]

Answer:

  D. Both functions are decreasing at the same average rate on that interval

Step-by-step explanation:

The dashed lines on the attached graph of the two functions (f in red, g in purple) represent the average rate of change of each function on the interval. The lines are parallel, because the average rate of change is the same for each of the functions on that interval.

__

Function f decreases by 60 units from f(0) = 64 to f(4) = 4 on the interval x = [0, 4]. Function g decreases by 60 units from g(0) = 75 to g(4) = 15 on the same interval. The average rate of change is the amount of decrease divided by the interval width. Those values are the same for both functions.

I need the answers to 5&amp;6 explain how you found the answer and I'll give brainliest
ch4aika [34]
I found the answer to 5, but I couldn't see the rest of worksheet to solve 6 thoroughly.

Both of these problems can be solved through substitution using the variables that you know equal a number.

For example #5: 5(3)(3)-7(3)+4
45-21= 24, and 24+8=28

That is how you solve number 5 and can also solve 6 the same way using the same method.
