Bismarck wanted to provoke France into declaring war, so they edited the Ems telegram in a way that insulted France and Spain and released it to the press. Which did result in France declaring war, they had better odds to win, but inthe end they lost.
i belive because when people share the same ideals they tend to agree on alot of things, however when they belive that there ideals are being thrown into question, a example being christianity and the lgbtq community you get things like the lgbtq loosing rights.
