Which statement best contrasts England's Glorious Revolution with the French Revolution?
Xelga [282]

Answer: B. England established a constitutional monarchy, while in France the monarchy was ended and replaced with a republic.

Explanation:

The Glorious Revolution of 1688 was a calm revolution that saw the removal of King James II who was a Catholic at a time the country was Protestant. King James was replaced by his daughter, Mary and her husband of Dutch royalty, William of Orange. After this revolution, the royals were forced to share power with Parliament which therefore transformed England into a Constitutional Monarchy.

When the French Revolution happened however, it was long and bloody and ended in the entire overthrow of the French monarchy with the King, Louis XVI, being executed along with his wife, Marie Antoinette.

What was the one effect of the great awakening
frez [133]

Answer:

A.

Explanation:

Arguably the most important long-term effect of the Great Awakening was that it acted as a catalyst for the movement toward American independence. This great religious revival took place without the express endorsement of the established church and led to the breakaway of many new independent sects and congregations.

They realized that nothing really changed much. The freed African-Americans still had almost no political rights and the system was controlled mostly by corrupt politicians who came from the north to become rich. The regular people still had huge farms and turned the former slave system into a system of sharecropping which was in many ways similar to slavery. The freedom was very superficial and in reality people still lived as bad as before the war.
