Well first off we need to know how to round or what rounding is. Rounding is the approximation of numbers usually decimals to a approximate cut off number for numbers that are too long or hard to work with/remember. To round a number you simply need to look at the number behind that number whether its a whole number (integer) or a decimal, either one will work. Now continuing on (on) how to round the number, look at the number after it and if it is 5 or above the number rounds up +1 and all numbers behind that turn to 0. For example 3.25500 round to the nearest hundredth, 3.26(000). Now if the number is 4 or smaller then you don't do anything at all (no rounding) and all the numbers after the being rounded number turn to 0's like so, 3.254(0000) rounded to the nearest hundredth, 3.25(00000). So now that we know how to round and what rounding is we need to look at are hundredth place on are number here and see what the next number is after that, in this case it is 0 because there is no stated number there the default next number is 0 like so,
2.750 and because 0 is under 5 we don't do any rounding at all here and just leave it as it is. So 2.75 rounded to the nearest hundredth is 2.75

guajiro [1.7K]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The key here is knowing that the equation of the line that passes through these points is same

Thus having (6,14) and (0,0), the slope is as follows;

m = y2-y1/x2-x1 = 0-14/0-6 = -14/-6 = 7/3

Now we can use this slope here to get the value of y in the question

All we need to do is tie write the equation of the line for between the points (6,14) and (2,y)

That would be;

7/3 = y-14/1-6

7/3 = y-14/-5

cross multiply;

-35 = 3(y-14)

-35 = -3y + 42

-3y = -35-42

-3y= -77

y = -77/3

y = 77/3

Questions 16-17 | Math 1 - 0 points Solve the graph Help needed !!
iris [78.8K]

Answer:

16) The area of the circle is 25.1 units²

17) JKLM is a parallelogram but not a rectangle

Step-by-step explanation:

16) Lets talk about the area of the circle

- To find the area of the circle you must find the length of the radius

- In the problem you have the center of the circle and a point on

 the circle, so you can find the length of the radius by using the

 distance rule

* Lets solve the problem

∵ The center of the circle is (1 , 3)

∵ The point on the circle is (3 , 5)

- Using the rule of the distance between two points

* Lets revise it

- The distance between the two points (x1 , y1) and (x2 , y2) is:

 Distance = √[(x2 - x1)² + (y2 - y1)²]

∴ r = √[(3 - 1)² + (5 - 3)²] = √[4 + 4] = √8 = 2√2 units

∵ The area of the circle = πr²

∴ The area of the circle = π (2√2)² = 8π = 25.1 units²

* The area of the circle is 25.1 units²

17) To prove a quadrilateral is a parallelogram, prove that every

     to sides are parallel or equal or the two diagonal bisect

     each other

* The parallelogram can be rectangle if two adjacent sides are

  perpendicular to each other (measure of angle between them is 90°)

 or its diagonals are equal in length

- The parallel lines have equal slopes, then to prove the

  quadrilateral is a parallelogram, we will find the slopes of

  each opposite sides

* Lets find from the graph the vertices of the quadrilateral

∵ J = (0 ,2) , K (2 , 5) , L (5 , 0) , M (3 , -3)

- The opposite sides are JK , ML and JM , KL

- The slope of any line passing through point (x1 , y1) and (x2 , y2) is

 m = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)

∵ The slop of JK = (5 - 2)/(2 - 0) = 3/2 ⇒ (1)

∵ The slope of LM = (-3 - 0)/(3 - 5)= -3/-2 = 3/2 ⇒ (2)

- From (1) and (2)

∴ JK // LM

∵ The slope of KL = (0 - 5)/(5 - 2) = -5/3 ⇒ (3)

∵ The slope of JM = (-3 - 2)/(3 - 0)= -5/3 ⇒ (4)

- From (3) and (4)

∴ KL // JM

∵ Each two opposite sides are parallel in the quadrilateral JKLM

∴ It is a parallelogram

- The product of the slopes of the perpendicular line is -1

* lets check the slopes of two adjacent sides in the JKLM

∵ The slope of JK = 3/2 and the slope of KL = -5/3

∵ 3/2 × -5/3 = -5/2 ≠ -1

∴ JKLM is a parallelogram but not a rectangle

-5^2 + (-15) ÷ (-3) + 20 Solve using PEMDAS showing work
oee [108]
In PEMDAS, there is no parentheses in this equation, so we move on to exponents.

-5^2 is 25
Now, we divide -15/-3 then we get 5
Next, we do -3+20=17
25+5+17 would be 47

Your answer should be 47!
Hope this helps (:

Nutka1998 [239]

Answer:

The null hypothesis   H_o :  \mu =  31

The alternative hypothesis H_a :  \mu >  31

Step-by-step explanation:

From the question we are told that

  The population mean is  \mu =  31 \  miles / gallon

Generally

   The null hypothesis is that the company's  new sedan, the Libra, will have an average of   \mu = 31 \ miles / gallon

This mathematically  represented as

The null hypothesis   H_o :  \mu =  31

   The alternative hypothesis is that the company's  new sedan, the Libra, will have an average better than   \mu = 31 \ miles / gallon

This mathematically  represented as

     The alternative hypothesis H_a :  \mu >  31
