Protection of habeas corpus means citizens cannot be held without legal action.

Further Explanations:

Habeas corpus is alternative in regulation through which an individual can report against an illegal detention or imprisonment. Police have to plead in front of the judiciary for the custody of a person usually by a prison official. A per person after his arrest has to be presented in the court within 48 hours and then it is determined by the court whether his detention is lawful or not. These proceeding are called the court order that needs Judge’s ratification to hold a person lawfully in the prison. It is on the magistrate to continue his custody or free the arrested.

Court orders in which a judge requires authorities to prove that a prisoner is being held lawfully and that allows the prisoner to be freed if the judge is not persuaded by the governments case. Habeas corpus rights imply that prisoners have a right to know what charges are being made against them. I am going to say that it is citizens cannot be punished without a trial.
