The full question on my assignment goes like this:
a. Describe a dilation (center and scale factor) that transforms triangle RST into triangle R'S'T' or explain why it cannot be done.
b. In either case, use complete sentences to describe the relationship that exists between the corresponding sides and angles.
My answers:
a.
The center of the dilation is the origin. The scale factor is 3.
b.
The relationship that exists between the corresponding sides and angles is that the corresponding sides have the same ratio and the corresponding angles have the same ratio, too.
I had this problem on my assignment, so I know what triangles you are talking about.
Triangle RST has coordinates of:
(1, 1) S
(2, 1) T
(1, 2) R
Triangle R'S'T' has coordinates of:
(3, 3) S'
(6, 3) T'
(3, 6) R'
Hope this helps!
