Answer:

A.  6

Step-by-step explanation:

Segment AB is on the line y = 2 and is 3 units long.

Point C is on the line x = −1.

FIND:

If the area of ΔABC is 6 square units, then find a possible y-coordinate of point C.

SOLUTION:

Area of a triangle = 1/2 b * h

segment AB is a horizontal line

the base of our triangle and point C is somewhere on the height.

If we can find the height of the triangle, we can add or subtract that height from y = 2 to get the possible y coordinate of point C.

We know that the x coordinate is -1 so,

6 = 1/2 (3) h

12 = 3h

h = 4

we can either add 4 or subtract 4 to the y coordinate of 2 to get the possible y coordinate of point C.

option 1

2 + 4 = 6 so the coordinate for C could be (-1, 6) or

option 2

2 - 4 = -2 so the coordinate for C could also be (-1, -2).

Since -2 is not in our choices but 6.

therefore,

the answer would be A. 6

Which best describes the relationship between the two triangles below?
Nostrana [21]

Answer:

They are SIMILAR triangles

Step-by-step explanation:

Given triangles MNL and FHG with two of their angles to be 51° and 36° respectively. Their third angle is expressed as:

180°-(51°+36°)

= 180°-87°

= 93°

Their third angle is 93°

Since both triangles have the same angles in them, both triangles are considered as similar triangle even though the value of their sides are different due to angle differences in both.

Note that individual triangles are scalene triangles since their angles are not the same but the both triangles are similar triangles based on their relationship.

What is the slope of the line that contains the following 2 points (1,2) (4, 0)
Eduardwww [97]
You use the rule , y2-y1/x2-x1 , to find the slope so the answer will be = 0-2/4-1 = -2/3

The equation 5m=36.25 models a constant rate situation. What is the value of 7m
Bond [772]

Answer:

7m = 50.75

Step-by-step explanation:

5m=36.25

We can solve this for m by dividing each side by 5

5/5m=36.25/5

m = 7.25

We want to find 7m

7(7.25) = 50.75
