If the simple interest on $1,000 for 4 years is $360, then what is the interest rate?
zloy xaker [14]
If the interest earned for 4 years = $360, then the interest earned for 1 year would be $90 ($360/4). The interest rate would be 9% (or .09) which can be calculated by 90/1000=.09

A cone with a radius of 12 cm and a height of 12 cm has the same volume as a cylinder with a radius of 8 cm. What is the height
Dmitry [639]
First, substitute the given radius and given height of the cone into the formula for the volume of a cone.

Volume of a cone: (1/3) pi r^2 h
In this case, the cone volume is (1/3) pi (12 cm)^2 (12 cm) = 576 cm^3

Vol. of a rt. cylinder: pi r^2 h
In this case, the vol. of the rt. cyl. is pi (8 cm)^2 h.

The two different shapes have the same volume. Therefore, set the two formulas (above) equal to each other:

576 pi cm^3 = pi (8cm)^2 h. This becomes

576 pi cm^3 = pi (64 cm^2) h. "pi" cancels out, leaving us with

576 cm^3
------------- = h. This is the height of the cylinder, in cm.
64 cm^2

Given the expression 4x2y+5x−6xy2−4xy+6x2y, select the like term that would combine with 4x2y. −6xy2 −4xy 5x 6x2y
Gemiola [76]

The answer is: 6x^2y

I assume this is a question from k12 so I guarantee the answer above is

correct.

4x^2y and 6x^2y are like terms because they both have the same variables which is x^2y
