4+(-2) -(-3) -6

first of all we distribute the signs inside to simplify it for the first step

negative times positive = negative

and

negative times negative = positive

=4 -2 +3 -6

Now we can combine using PEMDAS rule

= 7 - 8

= -1

So the answer is -1

UPS charges $7 for the first pound, and $0.20 for each additional pound. FedEx charges $5 for the first pound and $0.30 for each
hjlf

Answer:

The costs will be the same at 21 pounds.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let p be the number of additional pounds.  (Total weight would be p+1).

UPS cost = 7 + 0.20p

FedEx cost = 5 + 0.30p

We need these to be equal.

7 + 0.20p = 5 + 0.30p

0.10p = 2

p = 20

If each light fixture on a job requires 4 lamps and each room requires 16 fixtures, how many lamps will be required for 6 rooms?
kaheart [24]

Answer:

384 lamps

Step-by-step explanation:

This is simply a multiplication problem. From the question, we know that each fixture needs 4 lamps with a single room needing 16 fixtures.

The number of lamps required by each room is thus 16 * 4 = 64 lamps

Now, the total number of lamps required by 6 rooms is thus 64 * 6 = 384 lamps
