The Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka was a landmark Supreme Court case about civil rights because it abolished racial segregation in schools.
In the decision, the Supreme Court refuted the doctrine of “Separate but Equal” (Plessy b. Ferguson case) and decided that segregation deprive children of equal education opportunities, causes a feeling of inferiority as to their status in the community.
When Africans were brought to America to be sold as slaves, they brought food from their home continent with them. These foods became incorporated in what would become known as Southern food.
