The occipital lobe is one of the four main lobes of the cerebral cortex in the brain of vertebrates. The occipital lobe is the optical processing center of the mammalian brain including most of the anatomical region of the visual cortex. The primitive visual cortex is Brodmann area 17, generally described visual one.
