Answer:

According to Newton's First Law of Motion an object if in uniform motion will remain as such in motion or at rest will remain as such until and unless an external forces is applied on it.

In case of inertia the objects will remain in motion unless a force is applied acts upon the motion of the object to change the direction of force.

Here, when a soccer ball is kicked on a field full of grasses then it will stop because of friction as it will be a resisting force acting on the ball.
