So remember that the slope formula is \frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}, and the 2 coordinates that are given to us are (2,0) and (0,-4).

Using these two points, either \frac{-4-0}{0-2} or \frac{0-(-4)}{2-0} is acceptable.

we Know that

The formula to calculate the slope between two points is equal to

m=\frac{y2-y1}{x2-x1}

Let

A(0,-4)\ B(2,0)

substitute the values in the formula

m=\frac{0-(-4)}{2-0}

m=\frac{0+4}{2-0}

m=\frac{4}{2}=2

therefore

the answer is the option

\frac{-4-0}{0-2}

The product of a number and -7 gives seven times the sum of that number and -40. Find the number
Ymorist [56]
Let the unknown number be x.

x × -7 = 7 (x + -40)

-7x = 7x - 280

-14x = -280

x = 280/14

x = 20

Hope this helps!

I NEED TO HAND IN NOW!!!
umka21 [38]

Step-by-step explanation:

a)

total no. of pupils is not more than 24

therefore first equation is

(x+y) ≤ 24. ....(1)

No. of girls exceeding the no. of boys by atleast 4

(y-x) ≥ 4. .....(2)

b) Now Liza chooses 8 boys

Maximum no. of girls = ?

Using first inequality

y+8= 24 ( maximum value of less than or equal to function is equal to itself)

Therefore,

y= 24-8

=16

Minimum no. of girls = ?

Using second inequality

y-8 =4 (minimum value of greater than or equal to function is equal to itself)

Therefore,

y= 4+8

y=12

Answer:

a) 2linear inequalities

(x+y) ≤ 24

(y-x) ≥ 4

b) Max no. of girls = 16

Min no. of girls = 12

Hope it helps...
