In order to simplify the product, multiply the factors by taking the term in the first factor and multiplying it to every term in the second factor. Then take the second term in the first factor and multiply it to every term in the second factor. Add all terms and the correct answer is x^2 - x -12

What is 469.82 plus 8.5 sales tax
alekssr [168]
Hey!

The first step to solving this problem would be to multiply 469.82 by 0.085.

<em>New Equation :</em>
469.82 × 0.085 = ?

<em>Solution {New Equation Solved} :</em>
469.82 × 0.085 = 39.9347

Ignore the forty seven at the end of the solution. You're only going to need 39.93. Now we'll add 469.82 and 39.93. This is the sales tax plus the regular price. Which will then bring us to our total.

<em>New Equation :</em>
469.82 + 39.93 = ?

<em>Solution {New Equation Solved} :</em>
469.82 + 39.93 = 509.75

<em>So, 469.82 plus 8.5 sales tax is</em>  509.75.

Hope this helps!

Suppose the names of the months of the year are placed in a hat and a name is drawn at random. (a) list the sample space for thi
ollegr [7]

(a)

The sample space is a set whose elements are all the possible outcomes for the experiment. Since we will extract one of the months of the years, the sample space is the set composed by all the 12 months:

\Omega = \{ \text{January},\ \text{February},\ldots,\text{December}\}

(b)

An event is a subset of the sample space. Events are often defined by their properties. In this example, the event E is the subset of the sample space defined as

E = \{ x \in \Omega: x \text{ starts with the letter J}\}

So, we have

E = \{\text{January},\ \text{June},\ \text{July}\}

(c)

If all outcomes have equal probability, then the probability of an event is the ratio bewteen its cardinality, and the cardinality of the whole sample space:

P(E) = \dfrac{n(E)}{n(\Omega)} = \dfrac{3}{12} = \dfrac{1}{4}

In words, since there are three months beginning with J out of 12 months, we have a probability of 3 over 12 to pick a month starting with J, which simplifies to 1 over 4.

Alona [7]

Answer:

The answer is 2240m².

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that the formula of area of trapezium is A = 1/2×(a+b)×h where a and b represents the length and h is height :

area =  \frac{1}{2}  \times (a + b) \times h

let \: a = 50 \\ let \: b = 90 \\ let \: h = 32

area =  \frac{1}{2}  \times (50 + 90) \times 32

area =  \frac{1}{2}  \times 140 \times 32

area = 70 \times 32

area = 2240 \:  {m}^{2}
