since by the provided tickmarks WE ≅ ER, and QE ≅ ET, then both triangles are congruent by LL theorem, Leg Leg.

anyhow, since those legs are congruent, their hypotenuses must also be congruents, and we could use the HL theorem as well.

Ralph is 3 times as old as Sara. In 6 years , Ralph will be only twice as old as Sara will be then. Find Ralph’s age now .
Delvig [45]

Answer:

Ralph's current age is 18.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let r and s represent the current ages of Ralph and Sara respectively.  Our task here is to determine r, Ralph's age now.

If Ralph is 3 times as old as Sara now, then r = 3s.

Six years from now, Ralph's age will be r + 6 and Sara's will be s + 6.  Ralph will be only twice as old as Sara will be then.  This can be represented algebraically as

r + 6 = 2(s + 6).

We now have the following system of linear equations to solve:

r + 6 = 2s + 12, or r - 2s = 6, and r = 3s (found earlier, see above).

r - 2s = 6

r = 3s

Substituting 3s for r in r - 2s = 6, we get 3s = 2s + 6, or s = 6.  Sara is 6 years old now, meaning that Ralph is 3(6 years), or 18 years old.

Ralph's current age is 18.

Please help! Math problem is attached!!
Tamiku [17]

Answer:

Ounces of strawberry juice: 20 ounces

Ounces of water: 80 ounces

Step-by-step explanation:

For this problem, we can use the equation:

x + y = 100 ounces

Where x = The number of ounces of strawberry juice

and y = The number of ounces of water

Since we know that Molly uses four times as many ounces of water for each ounce of strawberry juice, we can conclude that:

y = 4x

With this information, we can use substitution to solve for x.

x + y = 100 ounces

x + (4x) = 100

Combine like-terms.

5x = 100

x = 20

Now that we know the value of x, we can figure out how many ounces of strawberry juice and how many ounces of water Molly needs.

Since x = The number of ounces of strawberry juice, Molly needs to use 20 ounces of strawberry juice.

Since y = The number of ounces of water, Molly needs to use 80 ounces of strawberry juice. (y = 4x | x = 20 | y = 4(20) | y = 80)

~Hope this helps!~
