I provided the following answer in a similar question that I answered earlier:

Not really. Lets say you have 19.8% of x ingredient, 20.7% of y ingredient, 30.6% of m ingredient ad 28.9% of k ingredient. For this medicine, the values would be rounded of to 20%, 21%, 31% and 29%....which adds up to 101%. So by rounding of to he nearest whole percent, you get a total percentage of more than 100%. This would be seen in the other medicines used in 'the table'. The fact that the total percentage for each one would add up to different values each time and not be constant makes the comparison invalid because the conditions being compared would be different.

You have failed to provide the actual table, so I tried to do my best to come up with example figures to help you answer the question using the figures you have.

. How do these two processes, finding the expected value of a discrete random variable and finding the dot product
kozerog [31]

Answer:

We can conclude that on this case we have identical processes but excersise 17 use another way to present the probability distribution and as we can see the expected value can be viewed as a dot product of two vectors with one vector containing the outcomes and the other the probabilities for each possible outcome.

Step-by-step explanation:

Assuming this previous info:

Exercise 17. Suppose that we convert the table on the previous page displaying the discrete distribution for the number of heads  occurring when two coins are flipped to two vectors.

If I buy a stereo for $245 and this includes GST of 10%, what is the pre-GST price?
Ivan

Answer:  $222.73

===========================================

Work Shown:

x = pre-GST price

10% of x = 0.10x = tax amount

x + 0.10x = 1.10x = post-GST price = 245

1.10x = 245

x = 245/1.10

x = 222.7272 approximately

x = 222.73 is the price before tax.

------------

Check:

10% of 222.73 = 0.10*222.73 = 22.273 = 22.27

The tax amount ($22.27) is added to the pre-GST price to get

22.27+222.73 = 245

which matches the post-GST price mentioned.

The answer is confirmed.

Or another way to confirm the answer is to calculate this

1.10*222.73 = 245.003 = 245
