Academic articles are written by professionals on a given field

non-academy articles are written for the mass public; they are published quickly and can be written by anyone. their language is informal, casual and may contain slang

Example:
academic text- books and reports, translations, essays, research papers of research articles and academic journals

non-academic- letters, blog posts, newspaper, magazine articles and fiction
