Katarina [22]
You just multiply 1.5x10^3 by 4.3x10^2. 1.5x10^3 is equal to 1500 (move the decimal to the right as many spaces as the exponent gives) and 4.3x10^2 is equal to 430. 1500*430=645000. To get that back down to scientific notation, we would have to move the decimal back to between the 6 and 4 to get 6.45 (Zeros aren't included in scientific notation) We moved the decimal to the left five spaces do the exponent is 10^5. We are left with 6.45x10^5

Can someone please help me on this question
vovikov84 [41]
A. The scientific notation for 50,000,000 is 5 x 10^7 (to the 7th power)

B. After squaring 50,000,000 you'll get <span>2500000000000000. In </span>scientific notation, this is 2.5 x 10^15 (to the 15th power).

C. I think what it's asking is how I solved part B... this could be wrong, double check it. I solved it by multiplying 50,000,000 x 50,000,000 and then converting the product into scientific notation.

Hope this helps, if you have more questions, message me or comment under this post!

d = dimes

q = quarters

d+q = 38 coins

q=38-d

0.25q + 0.10d=6.95

0.25(38-d)+0.10d=6.95

9.5-0.25d+0.10d=6.95

-015d=-2.55

d=-2.55/-0.15 = 17

q=38-17 =21

21*0.25 =5.25

17*0.10 = 1.70

5.25+1.70 = 6.95

 she had 21 quarters and 17 dimes

What is the solution to the equation below log7 ANSWER FAST PLEASE
Soloha48 [4]
Log7+log(x-4)=1
Subtract log 7 from both sides
Log(x-4)=1-log7
As 1-log7 = log (10/7)
Log(x-4)=log (10/7)
As bases of logs are same.
we get
x-4=10/7
Add 4 to both sides
x=10/7 + 4
simplify
x=38/7

Answer: x=38/7

Camryn puts $400 into a savings account that earns 6% annually. the amount in her account can
mylen [45]

The exponential function that approximates the amount of money in her account using a weekly growth rate is:

c_w(t) = 400(1.001154)^{\frac{t}{52}}

<h3 />

What is an exponential function?

An increasing exponential function is modeled by:

A(t) = A(0)(1 + r)^t

In which:

  • A(0) is the initial value.
  • r is the growth rate, as a decimal

In this problem, the yearly function is:

c(t) = 400(1.06)^t

Considering that a year has 52 weeks, we have that:

0.06/52 = 0.001154

Hence:

c_w(t) = 400(1.001154)^{\frac{t}{52}}
