So                                                                             x = 8 ± 2√22 / 2×2 = 4± √22/2.
  • 2x² - 9x - 1, here a = 2, b = -9, c = -1.                                                     x = -b ± √b² - 4ac / 2a = -(-9) ± √(-9)² - 4(2)(-1) / 2(2) = 9 ± √81 + 8/4.                                          x = 9 ± √89 / 4.
  • 2x² - 9x + 6, here a = 2, b = -9, c = 6.                                                    x = -b ± √b² - 4ac / 2a = -(-9) ± √(-9)² - 4(2)(6) / 2(2) = 9 ± √81 - 48/4.                                                                             x = 9 ± √33 / 4 .
