Bradford’s account mainly deals with the pilgrims that travelled from England to North America and also about their settlement and founding of Plymouth. In his account Bradford focusses on the tough journey that the pilgrims had to go through and the biblical significance pilgrims reaching America.
The overall central idea of Bradford's account is that God provides everything. He believes that God takes care of all his children even when they are faced with uncertainty and death.
This belief reflects his purpose in writing the account. Bradford believes that by writing this account, he will be able to educate future settlers. By reading about the past, they will understand more about the Pilgrim's sacrifices and how God always accompanied them. They will also be able to understand that their goals where righteous.
