The number of miles driven is proportional to the gallons of gasoline used. The graph shows this relationship. What is the unit

rate for miles driven per gallon? The graph shows distance traveled, in miles, on the y-axis and gasoline used, in gallons, on the x-axis. The line goes through point (four, thirty-eight).

I think the answer is 9.5 because that is the only number that can be multiplied by 4 that gives you 38.
(4,38) = y=9.5x

Finding the perimeter of each rectangle 96ft width 124ft length
dezoksy [38]

Answer:

440 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

Perimeter(p) of a rectangle is 2l + 2w

Where 'l' is the length and 'w' is the width.

p = 2(96ft) + 2(124ft) = 192 ft + 248 ft = 440 ft

a boat can travel 30 miles upstream in the same amount of time you can travel 50 miles Downstream. If the speed of the current i
almond37 [142]
Speed, S = Distance (d) / Time (t) => S= d/t => t= d/S

Let the speed of boat in still water be x mph

Resulting speed upstream = x-4 mph for a distance of 30 miles
Resulting speed downstream = x-4 mph for a distance of 50 miles

Time taken in both distances is equal.
Therefore,

30/(x-4) = 50/(x+4) => 30(x+4) = 50(x-4) => 30x+120 = 50x-200 => 120+200 = (50-30)x => 20x = 320 => x=320/20 = 16 mph

The speed of boat in still water is 16 mph.

According to an almanac, 60% of adult smokers started smoking before turning 18 years old. (a) compute the mean and standard
larisa [96]
The given problem describes a binomial distribution with p = 60% = 0.6. Given that there are 400 trials, i.e. n = 400.

a.) The mean is given by:

\mu=np=400\times0.6=240

The standard deviation is given by:

\sigma=\sqrt{npq} \\  \\ =\sqrt{np(1-p)} \\  \\ =\sqrt{400(0.6)(0.4)} \\  \\ =\sqrt{96}=9.80

b.)  The mean means that in an experiment of 400 adult smokers, we expect on the average to get about 240 smokers who started smoking before turning 18 years.

c.) It would be unusual to observe <span>340 smokers who started smoking before turning 18 years old in a random sample of 400 adult smokers because 340 is far greater than the mean of the distribution.
340 is greater than 3 standard deviations from the mean of the distribution.</span>
