<u>There are two main reasons that explain why goverments regulate monopolies. If monopolies were not regulated:</u>

  • Producers will charge higher prices for lower quality products because they face a much more ineslatic demand function, as consumers cannot switch to a different producer in order to obtain a certain good or service. Therefore, this situation is harmful for consumer and the goverment intervenes to suffocate it.
  • Competitiveness is limited. Producers are not forced to constantly improve their products or production processes because they do not have to compete with other companies for controlling the market. In the end, if such efforts are not made, the society as a whole is harmed because better technologies and better product attributes have not been developed and cannot be enjoyed.

In what way did the marbury decison enhance the system of checks and balances provided for the constution
Aleksandr-060686 [28]

Answer:

It provided a way to check the powers of congress and president. Before this ruling, there was no checks and balances.

Explanation:

The 1803 Supreme court case of Marbury v. Madison was an important decision that helped shape the way the powers of the state, as well as the federal government, are dealt with. This event established the case for a judicial review, thereby bringing it for the very first time in the history of the US Supreme Court.

With the case involving the powers of the outgoing and incoming presidents, and the validity of the state and federal powers, the decision laid the groundwork for how the powers of the Congress and the president are limited to. This brings forth the legality of the federal courts to declare any legislation unconstitutional, bringing the step to check exercise of powers. Before this, there had never been checks or balances for the powers of the federal sector.

If every day all the hunters in a tribe successfully return from the daily hunting expedition with plenty of slain animals, there will be <u>little evoked cooperation</u> due to the <u>low variance condition</u><u>.</u>  A model with low variance means sampled data is close to where the model predicted it would be.

"Low variance means that there is a small variation in the prediction of the target function with changes in the training data set. At the same time, High variance shows that there is a large variation in the prediction of the target function with changes in the training dataset."
