These pamphlets continue opinions of their writers on how oppressive the English dominance was and how it suppressed the colonies' ability to be strong and to work for themselves without the constant exploitation and oppression from their colonizers.

These texts were generally published in newspapers and in almanacs, or published alone. This provided a quick distribution of that text allowing as many people as possible to have quick access to these ideas.
