Equation of a line is given by y = mx + c; where m is the slope and c is the y-intercept.
Parallel lines has equal slopes.
Line y = -1/2x + 2 has a slope of -1/2

Required equation is y = -1/2x + 6

6x-3-11-8x=2 please show work
Ludmilka [50]

Answer: is x = -8

this is how i got it ______

6 x - 3 - 11 - 8 x = 2

(simplify both sides and combine like terms)

(6x + -8x ) + ( -3 + -11) = 2

- 2x  +  -14 = 2

-2x  -  14 = 2

( then you add 14 to both sides)

- 2x - 14 = 2

     +14       +14

-2x = 16

( then you divide both sides by -2)

-2x / -2   =   16/ -2

x = -8

ta da!! happy to help!

it made it here. this is for the second one.

( first, we subtract 8n from both sides)

13n + 26 = 8n - 29

-8n           -8n

5n + 26  =  -29

( then we subtract 26 from both sides)

5n + 26 = -29

     - 26    -26

5n = - 55

(after that we divide both sides by 5, we do this to make n alone )

5n/ 5 = -55/ 5

n = -11

Jimmy has to choose a coat and hat to wear outside. He has a choice of a red (R) or green (G) coat, and a choice of a blue (B) o
Andru [333]

Answer:

{GB,GY,RY,RB}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Jimmy has to choose a coat and hat to wear outside. He has a choice of a red (R) or green (G) coat, and a choice of a blue (B) or yellow (Y) hat.

To Find: What is the sample space for Jimmy's possible winter gear?

Solution :

Sample space : In probability theory, the sample space of an experiment or random trial is the set of all possible outcomes or results of that experiment.

To Form sample space

If he choose red coat(R) So, with that coat he can wear blue (B) or yellow (Y) hat.

So, sample space with red coat becomes {RY,RB}

Now If he choose green (G) coat So, with that coat he can wear blue (B) or yellow (Y) hat.

So, sample space with green coat becomes {GB,GY}

So, the sample space for the given situation is  {GB,GY,RY,RB}

Hence the sample space for Jimmy's possible winter gear is {GB,GY,RY,RB}
