As a new oceanic crust is added at the mid-oceanic plate, the seafloor spreads apart—the plates push away from each other ( like a conveyor belt)—the seafloor moves towards the edge of the oceanic plate and eventually gets pulled back down into the magma below.

ANSWER:

 • Seafloor spreading is a process which occurs where 'new oceanic crust' is formed due to the volcanic activity.
 • The seafloor spreads away like a conveyor belt when a new oceanic crust is added.

EXPLANATION:

 • These crusts gradually move away from the ridge. Seafloor occurs in Mid-ocean ridges.
 • The plates of the sea floor is pushed in such way that is exactly resembles the movement of conveyor belt.
 • Eventually the seafloor gets 'pulled back' down into the 'magma' below.

What soil horizon contains mostly clay silt and sand?

E Horizon - This eluviation (leaching) layer is light in color; this layer is beneath the A Horizon and above the B Horizon. It is made up mostly of sand and silt, having lost most of its minerals and clay as water drips through the soil (in the process of eluviation).

Where is the temperature of the mantle material greater?
kompoz [17]

Answer:

At the boundary with the core.

Explanation:

The mantle is the second layer from the top. It is bordered by the lithosphere above it, or rather by the crust, and by the outer core below it. The mantle is a layer which is in viscous state, being mostly consisted of molten metals and rocks. The temperature of this layer is not the same all throughout it, but it varies a lot. The temperature at its top part is around 200 C degrees, while the temperature at its bottom is around 4,000 C degrees. There's two reasons for this. One is that the core is very hot, so it makes the bottom part of the mantle very hot as well, and the other one is that the lithosphere is much cooler, as well as constantly getting new, cold, crust in it, which makes its top part much cooler. The mantle is the layer responsible for the movement of the tectonic plates on the surface, as it is the layer where the convection currents occur and drive the plates' movement.

WILL MARK BRAINLIEST ! ! !PLEASE write a letter to someone who doesn't live in Texas telling them about the different landforms
Vlad1618 [11]

Answer:

Dear John,

Hope you're well! It's been a long time since we met, coincidently, through Joanne, our crazy New Yorker friend. I write to you precisely to tell you that next month is already my vacation. I intend to be at my parents' farm here in the suburbs of Fort Worth, taming their crops and animals on their farm. I remember you wanted to visit me, and I think this will be the best opportunity for you to get away from the blizzards of Billings, MT.

John, here in Fort Worth is not getting so cold, so I think we could take advantage of the weather to take a walk through some of the state's cities. We can find forest, desert, grassland, swamps and mountains, in our way.

As soon as I finished my duty at my parents' house, we got back together in Dallas by bus, we take my Jeep, and we will head to the south to the gulf. We will find Coastal Plains, with shallow bays and some interesting swamps. If we go to the hill county we will find all kinds of trees, and cactus. Then we can climb mountains in Guadalupe, in the mountainous part of the state. We can do kayak in caddo lake.

We have also the desert part of the state, where everything is very dry, it makes a little heat during the day, but at night is cold. We can camp there. All this I write to you to know that we can enjoy much every environment, vegetation, climate, in my state.

Sure you will love it.

With affection,

Jenny Sullivan.

What happens when an oceanic plate converges with any other plate?
Marat540 [252]
When two oceanic plates converge, the denser plate will end up sinking below the less dense plate, leading to the formation of an oceanic subduction zone. Old, dense crust tends to be subduction back into the earth.
