''Pilgrimages are a waste of money'' Evaluate this statement (12 marks)

Answer:

I can think of only two reasons it would be considered a waste of money.

You dont truly believe in your faith, whichever it may be, so why are you bothering in the first place?

You make the pilgrimage into such a big deal that you are let down by what you find at your destination. Expecting miracles to happen and all things to be revealed only to have nothing like this happen has actually caused many people to ‘lose faith’.

Pilgrimage isnt something you really do ‘spare of the moment’ its meant to be a journey, a learning experience. Dont expect miracles to happen but do expect to find out about yourself more than anything, its only the way you will feel that will change at the end of the day.

In which of the following tectonic plate settings are volcanoes typically NOT found? a. Mid-ocean ridges b. Continental rifts c.

Answer:

Answer is D. Transform faults.

Explanation:

The transform fault is situation where the tectonic plates slide past one another. It can also be described as a conservative boundaries because it does lead to the creation or destruction of crust. But , the build up of pressure between two plates along the faults can produce earthquakes.

In this case, volcanoes settings can not be found in the transform faults because there is absence of volcanoes vent, which will allow the passage of the molten rock to the surface.
