Answer:

The pizza which is the better buy in each situation is:

  •          The 6-inch diameter pizza for $5.

Step-by-step explanation:

It is given that:The 6-inch diameter pizza for $5.

The 10-inch diameter pizza for $8.99.

This means that the cost for 1-inch diameter will be:

          $ (8.99/10) = $ 0.899

Also, the 6-inch diameter pizza for $5.

This means that the cost for 1-inch diameter will be:

    $ (5/6)= $ 0.833

Since, 0.833 < 0.899

This means that the 6-inch diameter pizza for $5 is cheaper than 10-inch diameter pizza for $8.99.

                    Hence, the better buy would be:

                  The 6-inch diameter pizza for $5.

You could see the fraction of each, so 10/8.99 would be 1.11. and 6/5 which would be 1.2, so the 6 inch costs more, so the 10 inch is better

A library has five copies of a certain textbook on reserve of which two copies (1 and 2) are hardcover books and the other three
Gre4nikov [31]

Answer and Step-by-step explanation:

(a) Since the student have to stop when he gets to w softcover book, then the sample space should always stop at either 3 or 4 or 5. If the students examines the books randomly and stops at a softcover book, here are the possible ways he could carry this out,

S = {3, 4, 5, 13, 14, 15, 23, 24, 25, 123, 124, 125, 213, 214, 215}

2. Since only one book is to be examined then the student must check only one softcover book and end the examining. To do this, either he examines just 3 or 4 or 5. Therefore,

A = {3, 4, 5}

3. We need to pick the possibilities from the sample space that shows that the examining ended at book 5. Therefore,

B = {5, 15, 25, 125, 215}

4. We need to pick possibilities from the sample space that shows that book 1 was not examined. Therefore,

C = {3, 4, 5, 23, 24, 25}

Solve each inequality. Graph the solution on a on a number line.
p-7/12>3/10
Dovator [93]

Answer:

so to solve an inequality you just treat the inequaltity sign like an equals sign except if you multiply by negative 1 you flip the direction of the sign.

p-7/12>3/10

add 7/12 to both sides

p>7/12+3/10

p>35/60+18/60

p>53/60

so if you had to graph this on a number line you would have an open circle on 53/60 and an arrow coming off pointing to the right
