Redundant mechanisms

To maintain homeostasis, redundant mechanisms are present in the body so that when one of the systems fails, other complementary or backup systems can help to compensate and ensure the survive of the organism by maintaining homeostasis. Examples of these redundant systems involve blood pressure regulation, temperature regulation, breathing and pH control in the body during exercise.

Hello
We know that biological processes are carried out by organic catalysts known as enzymes. Enzymes are protein molecules that operate over a range of conditions, and a specific set of those conditions are ideal for them. However, in most organisms that are not adapted to withstand high temperatures, the enzymes cannot operate beyond 50 degrees Celsius. This is because their structure starts to deform due to the breakage of bonds within the molecule. The break down is cause by the energy supplied in the form of temperature. An enzyme's structure is essential for it to carry out its task and is made specifically for the molecule it is to act on, the substrate. If the structure is deformed, the enzyme cannot carry out its function. Therefore, the enzymes producing glucose denature and glucose production decreases.

Explain (1) what type of variation is always required for natural selection and (2) where this variation comes from?
larisa86 [58]

When we talk about evolution we come across the process of natural selection. Genetic variation is always required for the natural selection. A change or variation in the genes may help the individuals in a population to better adapt to the environment. Such changes may be brought by mutations or random mating in the population. Such variations help in the survival of the population by allowing them to adapt to changing environmental conditions.

How do animals use protein
balu736 [363]
It is also assists in creating body chemicals like hormones and enzymes that are needed for normal function. It provides energy (like carbohydratesdo) and keeps the immune system strong. Proteins are made up of amino acids, and dogs require 22 amino acids to make necessary proteins.
