Answer:

B. It is the kind of evolution that can change the relative abundance of a particular allele in a gene pool over the course of generations.

Explanation:

Microevolution small changes in allele frequency in a population. Its effects can be seen in short periods, even from one generation to the next one generation, when these microevolution changes accumulate they can lead to macroevolution.

The processes that result in microevolution are

  • Gene Flow: Is the transfer of variations of a gene from one population to another, generally of the same species.
  • Mutation: A random alteration of a gene, occurs rarely and it's the source of new alleles. They can benefit or be harmful.
  • Genetic drift: Its the random possibility of an allele to become less or more numerous in a population, this can lead to the fixation or loss of this allele.
  • Selection: It depends on the adaptative advantage of certain traits

I hope you find this information useful and interesting! Good luck!

A genetic cross with two genes produces 400 offspring, and 20 of them have recombinant phenotypes. What is the recombination fre
sp2606 [1]

Linkage refers to the tendency of inhertance of the DNA sequences that are close together on a chromosome during the meiosis of sexual reproduction. It can be measured by the recombination frequency.

Recombination frequency describes the proportion of recombinant offsrpring produced in a genetic cross between two organisms. It is the frequency with which a single chromosomal cross over takesplace between two genes during the process of meiosis. Recombination frequency (RF) is given by

RF= Recombinants /total offspring  x 100.

In the above example, the number of recombinant offspring is 20 and the total offspring is 400. By substituting these values,

RF= 20/400 x100

= 5.

The recombination frequency for the above cross is 5.

Water molecules sticking to a mirror’s surface is an example of ?
Ludmilka [50]

Answer

       Water molecules sticking to a mirror’s surface is an example of adhesion.

Explanation

      Adhesion is the property of attractive force that exist between two different molecules. water molecules adhere to other surfaces due to their polar nature.

Importance

                   it is because of adhesive forces that water can travel and cover a distance of 100 meter up in the plants through xylem vessels as recorded in the world tallest tree (red wood tree)
