How to find the value of x and z
Setler79 [48]

Answer:

z = 86 °

and, x = 2

Step-by-step explanation:

We know that a straight line is a 180 degree-angle. So, we know that

94 + z must equal 180, because they are the only two angles that make up the straight line.

from this information, (that 94 + z = 180) we can easily find z.

(this is typically an intuitive method of subtracting 94 from 180)

94   +   z   =   180

-94                  -94

z = 86 °

-- we know that the relation between z and (10x + 74) must also be equal to 180, as they make up a straight line

if z = 86, then we can know that (10x + 74) must be equal to

(10x + 74) + 86 =    180

                - 86        -86

(10x + 74) = 94

10x + 74 = 94

      - 74   - 74

  10 x     =    20

÷ 10            ÷ 10

     x    =   2

so, z = 86 °

and, x = 2

(I am assuming that this "unprotected placement assessment" has already taken place, and you would like to understand a question. Or, this is a practice assessment. Because there is no point to cheating on a placement assessment--you will just skip over material you don't know. And, it wouldn't align with Brainly's honor policy. Hope you learn from this!!)

The two box-and-whisker plots below represent the distribution of shoe sizes for a group of 40 two-year-old boys and a group of
FromTheMoon [43]
<h3>Answer: Choice B)  0.5</h3>

=============================================================

Explanation:

For now, focus solely on the orange boxplot. The first quartile Q1 is the left edge of the box, which is at 3.5; while the value of Q3 is 7.5 (right edge of the box). The interquarile range (IQR) is ...

IQR = Q3 - Q1

IQR = 7.5 - 3.5

IQR = 4

This is basically the width of the box. Ignore the whiskers when it comes to the IQR.

Let A = 4 as we'll use it later.

---------------------------------

Find the IQR for the blue box plot

Q1 = 6 = left edge of the blue box

Q3 = 9.5 = right edge of the blue box

IQR = Q3 - Q1

IQR = 9.5 - 6

IQR = 3.5

Let B = 3.5 as we'll use it later

---------------------------------

Subtract the values of A and B to find the difference of the IQR values

A - B = 4 - 3.5 = 0.5

9/14 / 5/12 simplify this fraction
nignag [31]
I'm assuming those are two fractions being divided. I just write it out. It looks scary but it's really not. Just do this:
~=this is my dividing sign when not in fraction form cause I don't have an actual sign here.

9/14 ~ 5/12

Then you KCF(Keep, Change, Flip). Keep the first number the same. Change the dividing sign to multiplication. Then flip the last fraction so that it is now 12/5.
The problem now stands as:

9/14 • 12/5

Simplify and the you have your final answer. I recommend looking up the keep change flip video by flocabulary in case you haven't checked it out yet. It really helped me learn this method. Hope this helped!!
