A whole number is a number that does not contain decimal parts or fractions and is ≥ 0. For example: 0, 1, 2, 3

A real number is a number that is either rational or irrational. For example, -1, √2, 3.3, 4

Find the area of the shaded region. Round to nearest hundredth.
coldgirl [10]

210/360 = 7/12, meaning the shaded area is 7/12 of the entire circle.

The circle has radius 12 in, so its total area is π (12 in)^2 = 144π in^2.

Then the area of the shaded region is 7/12 of this, or

7/12 * (144 π in^2) = 84π in^2 ≈ 263.89 in^2

Hi, you've asked an incomplete question. I attached the missing caption that completes the question.

Explanation:

By looking closely at the caption we notice there are measuring coordinates along the margin of the caption. To find the middle of the chairs, take note of the total coordinate distances between points C and D;

  • For the vertical axis, the distance is 4
  • For the horizontal axis, the distance is 2

Substracting both differences in distances we get 2 (4-2) so at point (10, 7) we find the middle or halfway between the chairs at points C  and D.
