Yes, if it is an organic reef. However, contrary to the other answer, reefs are built by many liviing organisms, not just corals (cnidarians), and most coral reefs have a large number of other organisms that contribute significantly to building the reef. Modern coral reefs are composed of 40-80% coral, with the other primary component being calcareous algae. In some instances calcareous algae compose almost all of the reef. Many other organisms inhabit the reef and contribute to its build-up such as bryozoans, encrusting molluscs, and even microbes which often cement particles together. Other types of organisms do build reefs too. Oysters build reefs in some modern oceans.

Within a given species, which two types of cells have the equivalent amounts of dna?
kiruha [24]
The original question has a set of choices. This is within the context of cell division. The choices are:

A. A cell in G1 of interphase and a cell in G2 of interphase
B. A cell in G1 of interphase and a cell immediately after the completion of meiosis II
C. A cell in G1 of interphase and a cell in metaphase II of meiosis
D. A cell in G2 of interphase and a cell in metaphase II of meiosis
E. None of the above.

The correct answer is C. A cell in G1 is diploid and the cell in meiosis II is haploid but the amount of DNA still equivalent as each chromosome in the haploid cell consists of two chromatids. G2 cells already had been through the S phase therefore the genetic material is already doubled. A cell immediately after meiosis II has half the genetic material.

Biological classification is important because it allows scientists to study organisms in a ___ way
puteri [66]

Answer:

Systematic.

Explanation:

Biological classification is important because it allows scientists to study organisms in a systematic way.

In Science, this biological classification of living organisms based on similarities or characteristics such as eyes, number of legs, etc., is generally referred to as taxonomy.

Taxonomy can be defined as the process of naming, classification and description of living organisms such as plants and animals. The eight (8) biological classification (taxonomy) used for grouping and organizing organisms are; kingdom, domain, phylum, family, order, class, species and genus.

Hence, taxonomy helps scientist to have a good understanding and knowledge when studying various organisms.
