The nuclear membrane dissolves during the prometaphase of mitosis, while it disintegrates during prometaphase I and prometaphase II of meiosis. The breakdown of the nuclear envelope is due to the addition of a phosphate group to nuclear lamins by the enzyme M-CDK in a process known as phosphorylation.
<span>The two types of cellular division in most multicellular organisms are mitosis and meiosis. Mitosis is the process of producing two diploid daughter cells, while meiosis is the process of generating four diploid cells called gametes, which are used for sexual reproduction.</span>

<span>Mitosis is divided into several phases, including prophase, prometaphase, metaphase, anaphase and telophase. As the intermediary phase between prophase and metaphase, prometaphase is sometimes considered part of prophase. The disintegration of the nuclear membrane into tiny vesicles signals the end of prophase and the beginning of prometaphase. When the envelope breaks down, the mitotic spindle fibers gain access to the DNA of the cell. The fibers then attach to the chromosomes at their kinetochores and begin moving to polar opposites of the cell.</span>

Where would you be most likely to find the oldest rocks on Earth?
alekssr [168]

At the outer edges of ocean crust

Explanation:

The rocks found in continents are older and in some cases the oldest. The younger rocks are found in mid ridge of ocean. The oldest rocks can be found in ocean trenches that are very deep.

At the outer edges of ocean crust, oldest rocks can’t be found as relatively newer ones are formed continually and mostly found. So, different regions have different ages of rocks and needs to be explored properly.

A scientist is examining a fossilized insect that may be an ancestor of modern dragonflies. Which of the following should the sc
goldenfox [79]

The scientist should compare the anatomies of the fossil and present day dragon fly to determine the relation between the two.

Explanation:

  • Diet is a common factor between many species,i.e. Different animals can have same died for example there are several grass eating species so this will not establish a close relation between the two.
  • A single habitat can be occupied by different species , for example a grassland can be the habitat of lion, zebra , various insects etc. Secondly, getting a clear idea about the  habitat of a fossil specimen is difficult and can be hypothetical. Thus, this is not a criteria to be compared.
  • Different animal can have same predator, for example, a zebra, a deer and a nil gai have lion as the predator. Again determine the predator of a fossil specimen is very difficult and might lead to a hypothetical conclusion. Thus predators are also not factors of comparison here.
  • The Anatomy of an organism is quite similar to its ancestor, the structural plan of the body can easily be compared. For example the anatomical features of man and apes are closely established. Thus, Comparing the anatomy will determine the closeness of the give species.

Anika [276]

Answer:

The correct answer is - sexual script.

Explanation:

The sexual script is a theory that explains that every sexual activity or behavior follows a particular script on the basis of the social norms that can be formal or informal, which also include the eligible sexual partners and what is the acceptable sexual activity.

It is like a program for action that categories the behaviors for sexual activity that is appropriate in various conditions. Sexual scripts vary according to age, religion, social position, culture, and many other factors.

Describe two reasons why the use of synthetic fertilizers is not the answer to decreasing soil quality
katovenus [111]

Answer:

Two reasons why the use of synthetic fertilizers is not the answer to decreasing soil quality are:

  • They increase the nitrate levels in the soil which is a rich supplement for nitrogen needed by plants for their growth.
  • They are easily available and user-friendly but should be used in regulated amounts as an excess of nutrients like nitrogen and phosphorus present in synthetic fertilizers enter the aquatic ecosystem.

<u>Explanation: </u>

Synthetic fertilizers are made up of three main nutrients, viz, nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus. All of these are required for the proper growth of plants.  Though, these fertilizers give higher yields, yet their excessive use is bad for aquatic ecosystems.

When these fertilizers are used in excessive amounts, they reduce the dissolved oxygen in the water as there’s an increase of bacteria and algae in the water.  That is why such fertilizers should be used in regulated amounts.
