You would divide 7 by 3. 3 Times 2 = 6 Pit the remaining over 3. 1 4/3

Well, you would see how many times three would go into 7. You may think to yourself, "three doesn't go into seven evenly" That's exactly right. What we will have is a mixed number.

I'm going to assume you know the process of how to convert from proper to improper and vise versa.

So let's take out ONE WHOLE number out from there and we can get our whole number of 1.

It is basically saying taking 7/3 - 3/3

If you subtract those fractions, you would get the final answer of

1 4/3!

Hope I helped! (Thank me if it did)

How to complete the square with a leading coefficient?
Kamila [148]
Factor out the leading coefficient:

ax^2+bx+c=a\left(x^2+\dfrac bax+\dfrac ca\right)

Now complete the square:

x^2+\dfrac bax+\dfrac ca=x^2+\dfrac bax+\dfrac{b^2}{4a^2}-\dfrac{b^2}{4a^2}+\dfrac ca=\left(x+\dfrac b{2a}\right)^2-\dfrac{b^2}{4a^2}+\dfrac{4ac}{4a^2}=\left(x+\dfrac b{2a}\right)^2-\dfrac{b^2-4ac}{4a^2}

Now, redistributing the leading a gives

a\left(x+\dfrac b{2a}\right)^2-\dfrac{b^2-4ac}{4a}

Find the sum of the first 30 terms of the sequence. a_(n)=4n+1
oksian1 [2.3K]
We know that
a(n)=4n+1
To find the sum of the first n<span> terms of an arithmetic series
use the formula
</span><span><span>Sn</span>=<span>n(<span>a1</span> + <span>an</span>)/2
</span></span>a1--------------> is the first term
an--------------> is the last term
n--------------- > <span>is the number of terms
</span>we have that
a1------------> 4*(1)+1=5
a30----------> 4*(30)+1=121
n------------- > 30
S30=30*(5 + 121)/2=1890

the answer is 1890
