Douglass will become an avid hunter because he both enjoys and excels at this activity. Master Lloyd will show favoritism to Douglass because they are companionable. The correct answer is option two.

In the excerpt from "Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass," Douglass suggests that Master Lloyd will show favoritism to Douglass because they are companionable, which means both are friendly and sociable. Based on the passage, he is a good companion to Master Lloyd during his hunting. In addition, Lloyd has become quite fond and protective of him, and usually has a piece of cake with him.
