Answer: To prevent fires you need to:

-Identify and removing fire hazards in your home, anything that gets hot needs plenty of space and there should be at least 3 feet between heating items and anything else that could catch fire

-turn of space heaters when not in use

-always avoid smoking in bed and don't leave candles in bed or anywhere else unattended

-make sure kids don't play with matches and lighters, keep them locked away from their reach

-make sure you have working smoke alarms on every level of your home, inside and outside sleeping areas, test them once a month, and if it's more than 10 years old make sure to replace it.
