Residential areas in the outskirts of the larger cities became the new place to live for American citizens that had the economy to do so. Downtown areas became very populated and noise due to that many businesses had their operations in downtown. So middle-class people found a better option in the suburbs, where there were new villages, better homes, parks, and other facilities that made living more comfortable. Better roads connected suburbs with downtown. Workers found in the suburbs a chance to improve the living conditions of their families.
