Explanation:

Frederic Bartlett, a British psychologist, first gave the concept of schema. Schema may be defined s a mental structure of an individual that uses to organize information and helps to guide cognitive behavior.

People uses schemata to classify events and objects which are based on some common elements and thus they help to interpret and forecast the world.

Schemas are generally used to set social roles in different social situations. The blind audition process for the orchestras prevented women from not being noticed because of cultural beliefs that social role as a woman is to give care and take family responsibilities.

sp2606 [1]

Answer: embarking on pilgrimages.

A pilgrimage is a journey in search of spiritual meaning. In Christianity, the Holy Land is a particularly important site of pilgrimage, as this is the location with the closest connection to the life of Jesus Christ.

However, pilgrimages were also made within Europe to places such as Rome. Other popular sites included the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral in Spain (along the Way of St. James), Maastricht, Aachen and Kornelimünster (the Pilgrimage of the Relics) and Canterbury Cathedral (as described by Chaucer).
