The function t(x) = 4x + 3 determines how many cans of hot sauce a food truck needs to stock on board, where x is the number of

shifts the crew is going to work in the truck. The crew uses c(t(x)) to find the amount of money to spend on hot sauce. The function c(x) = 2x + 5. Solve for how much money must be spent when the crew is going to work 4 shifts.

1) t(x) = 4x + 3

2) c(x) = 2x + 5

3) c [ t(x) ] = 2 (tx) + 5 = 2 [ 4x + 3] + 5 = 8x + 6 + 5 = 8x + 11

4) x = 4 => c(t(4)) = 8(4) + 11 = 32 + 11 = 43

Answer: 43

3. Given the graph below, determine whether each statement is true or false.
MaRussiya [10]

Answers:

  1. True
  2. True
  3. True
  4. False
  5. False

======================================

Explanation:

In this context, a zero is another term for x intercept or root. This is where the graph either touches or crosses the x axis. This occurs in three locations: x = -3, x = 2, and x = 0. So those are the three roots. That makes the first three statements true, while the remaining two others are false.

Side note: x = 0 doesn't always have to be involved. Its quite possible to have x = 0 not be an x intercept. The term "zero" is a bit misleading in that regard. I prefer either "root" or "x intercept" instead.

Calculate the area of the following shape. full answer/explanation please
DerKrebs [107]
To find the area of this entire shape, we must divide it into two rectangles.

The first rectangle is on the bottom of the shape, with a length of 8 cm and a width of 3 cm.

The second rectangle is on the top of the shape. The length is (8-5) cm and the height is (7-3) cm.

To find the area of the total shape, we must add the areas of the two rectangles. To find the area of the rectangle, we use the formula, A = l * w.

8 * 3 = 24 cm^2
3 * 4 = 12 cm^2

24 sq cm + 12 sq cm = 36 square centimeters.

Therefore, the area is 36 square centimeters. Hope this helps! :)
