A geometric sequence must have a constant ratio x/y

Now, technically a does, 1, however it's not really a sequence, depending how you define one.

So we need to find one that has a constant multiplier to it.
B definitely doesnt as that's just increasing the bottom of the fraction by 1 and to do that you have to multiply by a different number each time.

C however, does, it multiplies by -4 (dont forget that a negative x a negative is a positive), so this is the correct answer.

We have the equation 1/2x + 200 =1200 so we know that we have 200 already as one of the numbers so 1/2 is half of x + 200 equals 1200 since we have 200 we know that 1/2 of x is going to be 1000 because 1000+200=1200 meaning x is 2000. So your answer would be x=2000 or 1/2 2000 + 200=1200

Cody is designing a pattern for a wood floor the length of the pieces of wood are 1 1/2 inches 1 13/16 inches and 2 1/8 inches w
erastovalidia [21]

Well, you only listed three pieces so far. But I can already see a
pattern emerging from those three.

Of course, the next piece might return to 1-1/2 inches. I mean,
the pattern can't just keep on going and increasing forever or
Cody would eventually wind up with pieces that are a mile long.
It must eventually return to 1-1/2 inches and start over from there.

From the first piece to the second one, and from the second one
to the third one, the increase is 5/16 inch both times. So if the
pattern is more than three pieces long before it starts over from
1-1/2, then the next piece is

             (2-1/8 + 5/16) = (2-2/16 + 5/16) = 2-7/16 inches .
